Landmark Space Unveils ‘Science at Work’ Brand Evolution as It Announces New Flagship Workplace at 1 Great St Helen’s

Landmark Space has announced it will open a new flagship flexible workplace at 1 Great St Helen’s in the City of London in summer 2026, alongside the unveiling of its evolved brand platform, “Science at Work.”

The move signals both a new addition to Landmark’s London portfolio and a clearer articulation of its approach to workplace design and experience.

The announcement comes as modern businesses increasingly rethink the role of the office – moving beyond flexibility alone and towards workplaces that actively support collaboration, culture and performance.

Set to open in summer 2026, 1 Great St Helen’s will embody Landmark Space’s new Science at Work philosophy – which applies evidence-led thinking to intentionally design workplaces, experiences and operations around how people actually work.

Drawing on principles from behavioural science and workplace psychology, this new concept focuses on how environment, service and operational detail influence how people feel, interact and perform.

The approach reflects Landmark’s focus on continual progress – using insight, customer feedback and real-world experience to refine how its workplaces are designed and operated over time.

As the flagship expression of this philosophy, 1 Great St Helen’s will offer 12 floors of private offices, meeting and event spaces designed to support productivity, collaboration, focus and connection, set across 52,000 sq ft.

The ground floor will feature a café, club-style lounge and arrival space designed to encourage informal interaction. Level 1 is dedicated to meeting and collaboration, including a 1,000 sq ft event space with dedicated breakout space, boardrooms and meeting rooms. These spaces contribute to one of the strongest ratios in the City – offering 1 meeting room seat for every 5.2 workstations.

Lower ground floors are dedicated to wellbeing, recovery and movement, including a gym, studio, wellness lounge and therapy rooms. Created to support active commuting, the building also provides 110 bike spaces, 100 lockers and 11 showers.

Workspace floors provide a mix of open workspace, breakout areas, internal meeting rooms and phone booths – supporting both teamwork and focused work. The building will also include a dedicated library and focus area, alongside a bookable rooftop pavilion with biodiverse planting and 3,700 sq ft of landscaped terraces.

“Businesses are increasingly recognising that the office plays a critical role in culture and performance,” said Ed Cowell, CEO at Landmark Space.

“For many years we’ve been applying insight from workplace psychology and behavioural science to how we design and operate our spaces. Science at Work is about making that philosophy clearer – creating workplaces intentionally designed to help modern organisations do their best work.”

“Flex has matured significantly over the last decade,” added Tom Sleigh, Property Director at Landmark Space. “The conversation is no longer just about flexibility – it’s about the quality of the environment and the role the workplace plays in a company’s success. Our focus is on creating spaces where people feel in their element, as reflected in our independently verified 2025 Net Promoter Score of +63.”

Aysha Taylor-Rivoire, Director, Occupier Transactions & Lease Consultancy at CBRE added: “Occupiers are increasingly looking beyond traditional office metrics and focusing on how workspaces support focus, wellbeing and performance. 1 Great St Helen’s was designed with these priorities in mind, and Landmark Space’s human-centric approach makes them well placed to deliver a workspace that genuinely supports how people work today.”

Founded in 2000, Landmark Space operates flexible workspace across London, combining distinctive buildings with a human-centred approach to the workplace.

The upcoming opening of 1 Great St Helen’s represents the next phase of Landmark’s growth as it continues to expand its portfolio while sharpening a brand positioning centred on the science of better workplaces.

Landmark Space has agreed a 15-year lease for the building with Rafer Investments.

Located moments from Leadenhall Market, Bishopsgate and Broadgate Circle, the building sits within a 10-minute walk of seven major stations, including Liverpool Street, Bank and Moorgate, making it one of the City’s best-connected locations.

The building has also been developed with sustainability at its core, targeting BREEAM Excellent, holding an EPC A rating and operating on a fully electric strategy.
